The Battlefield Beneath the Kards
Every card game needs a place where the battle happens. For Battle Kards, we wanted that place to feel like part of the world not just somewhere to put cards.

This is the main Battle Kards board. It's where the cards come to life, where players make their moves, and where all those carefully planned strategies can completely fall apart. When we started designing the board we thought of games we had played like Catan, Tokaido and Deception:Murder in HongKong. We didnt want something that felt too clean and mordern and wanted a bit of history inspired by temples and carvings in wood. That's where the wooden center came in.
The carved patterns, clouds, and small details are there to give the board a handcrafted feeling. The little world symbol in the middle is another part of that idea: this isn't just a table you're playing on. It's the battlefield where the different Kards and their stories meet. Then there's the teal frame around everything.
And honestly, we're still working on it.
A board can look great as a standalone image, but the real test is what it feels like when you're actually playing on it. You may have a lot of questions like
Where do the cards go?
How much of the board should stay visible?
How should the battlefield react when something happens?
How do we make the board feel alive without taking attention away from the cards?
Those are the little things we're figuring out as we build BattleKards.
And we're pretty excited to see what kind of chaos eventually happens on it
